On Saturday night (April 27th) Jon and I enjoyed Local Natives at the Commodore Ballroom. I had been really looking forward to seeing them live again since they opened for the National over a year ago at the Orpheum Theatre. I have been in to this band since they released their first album 'Gorilla Manor" and cannot get enough! I have been to quite a number of shows now, and I can honestly say they are one of the best live bands I have ever seen. It is hard to explain how wonderful their energy on stage is, one word just does not cut it. A real treat to see them live, that is for sure. Check Local Natives out on their SoundCloud for their tunes or their official website for some other goodies.
I also really enjoy going to the Commodore for shows, definitely my favourite indoor venue. They even have a Ryan Gosling look a like bouncer (that is a little tid bit for the ladies - or men). Here is their Calendar for upcoming shows. I'm pretty sad I will be missing Rancid and The Transplants!
Ps. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pictures, next show I go to, I will make sure to bring my actual camera.
